Any men or women facing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrlawyers.com\/chinese\/Drug-Charges\/Drug-Trafficking\/index.html\">criminal charges<\/a>\u00a0for committing crimes in this arena will likely have the fight of their lives on their hands when they go to trial. That will no doubt be the case for a group of young adults recently arrested in Toronto.<\/p>\n<p>Toronto Police executed five search warrants on Jan. 15 at locations in the downtown core and the north end of the city. The officers, all with the\u00a0Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force, seized large quantities of drugs, weapons, and cash during the raids. In total,\u00a0234 grams of marijuana,\u00a086 grams of heroin,\u00a020 grams of oxycodone,\u00a015 grams of crack cocaine,\u00a0196 grams of MDMA, and\u00a0over a kilogram of powdered cocaine were confiscated. The street value is estimated at $100,000, according to law enforcement. Additionally, $45,000 in cash, seven guns and nearly 400 rounds of ammunition were seized from the five sites.<\/p>\n<p>Three men and one woman were arrested, all of them under the age of 25. One of the men faces three charges related to drugs and a single count of\u00a0possession of property obtained by crime. The remaining three individuals face a total of 56 charges each for weapons and drug crimes, and\u00a0possession of property obtained by crime.<\/p>\n<p>This is an extremely serious set of circumstances for each of these young people. The quantity of charges is immense, and the potential penalties are equally so. A case of this kind, where so many criminal charges are involved, will require a well thought out and presented defence.
