Recovering from a serious car accident can be a difficult process. Knowing that accident claimed the lives of two others would make it beyond painful. Sadly, that’s the situation for a man accused of\u00a0impaired driving<\/a>\u00a0after an accident north of Toronto this past summer.<\/p>\n

The accident took place on Aug. 29, 2016 at approximately 9:40 a.m. in Markham, Ontario. A 42-year old woman, along with her 4-year old daughter, had brought\u00a0her husband to the Markham GO station. After seeing him off, the two were returning home in their car when a second vehicle allegedly entered their lane and collided with them. Both the woman and her daughter were taken to hospital, but neither survived.<\/p>\n

The driver of the second vehicle was also seriously injured and taken to hospital. His 18-month old daughter, who was also in the car, was uninjured. Following the return of toxicology test results on the driver, an arrest was made. A 28-year old Markham man was charged with dangerous driving causing death, and impaired driving. He was released on bail and will appear in court on Nov. 10, 2016.<\/p>\n

Lives change in an instant when a motor vehicle accident occurs. Once his injuries are dealt with, the accused in this case will have a very tough legal battle ahead of him. An impaired driving charge, especially one that involves a fatality, is a very serious accusation.
