Leora
Shemesh Ms.
Shemesh's practice at Neuberger Rose focuses on the defence of
all criminal and regulatory charges and appeals. Ms. Shemesh's
expertise includes defending all types of drug related offences,
such as production and trafficking, conspiracies, and possession,
as well as violent crimes, including murder and aggravated assault.
She has also developed a large young offender practice that includes
attendance at educational tribunals and representing youths at
explusion hearings. Professional

- Instructor
for The Advocates’ Society (Toronto, Ontario),
Criminal Litigation Skills Certificate Program. 2002
to present. Courses include:
Defending
a Domestic Assault Case (October
2004). Instructing other counsel on the complex
nature of defending domestic assault cases. Sentencing
(March 2004). Instructing other counsel
on the complexities of sentencing. Cross-Examination
of the Expert Witness (October 2003). Instructing
other counsel on the required skills
and preparation for cross-examination
directed at undermining Crown expert
testimony in all areas, including
forensic testimony, psychiatric testimony
and scientific.
- Instructor
of high school law students in York Region and a regular judge
for the Annual Ontario Mock Trial Competition.
Publications
and Seminars Ms. Shemesh
has co-authored an academic article for the Criminal Lawyer's
Association. Education Ms.
Shemesh received her training at Osgoode Hall Law School and
has completed an Honours degree in political science at York
University. Ms. Shemesh has won several academic awards for
