Mr. Rose has experience and sophistication defending hundreds of criminal cases, involving drugs, homicide, weapons, fraud, tax and conspiracy charges, impaired and dangerous driving, sexual assaults and fraud allegations since his call to the Bar in 1992. He appears regularly at trial courts across Ontario, as well as the Ontario Court of Appeal, and coroner's court. Mr. Rose is a sought-after commentator on criminal justice issues who has three legal textbooks in print, as well as a monthly on-line Criminal Law newsletter available to subscribers of eCarswell. He is a nationally recognized expert on forensic DNA evidence.



Mr. Rose has also been retained by government agencies and police departments for representation at coroners inquests. He is currently appearing as counsel to a government ministry at the Cornwall Public Inquiry into allegations of historical sexual abuse. His opinion on criminal law and criminal justice issues is regularly sought by various national media outlets including CBC, Global Television, and City TV.
